Position Summary
The Recruiter is responsible for sourcing, recruiting, interviewing, onboarding, and placing qualified candidates with client companies. In a small staffing agency, the Recruiter wears multiple hats and plays a key role in both candidate and client success. This position requires excellent communication skills, strong organizational abilities, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment while managing multiple priorities.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Recruiting & Talent Acquisition
- Source qualified candidates through job boards, social media, referrals, networking, and recruiting events.
- Review resumes and conduct phone, virtual, and in-person interviews.
- Evaluate candidates' skills, experience, and cultural fit.
- Build and maintain a pipeline of qualified candidates for current and future openings.
- Maintain consistent communication with applicants throughout the hiring process.
Client Support
- Fill client job orders quickly while maintaining quality standards.
- Match candidates with appropriate assignments based on qualifications and client requirements.
- Coordinate interviews between candidates and clients.
- Obtain client feedback and communicate hiring decisions.
- Conduct regular follow-up with clients to ensure satisfaction.
Onboarding & Compliance
- Complete employment paperwork and onboarding documentation.
- Verify employment eligibility (I-9), work authorization, and other required documentation.
- Conduct reference checks, background screenings, and drug testing when required.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and company employment regulations.
- Maintain accurate employee files and applicant records.
Employee Relations
- Maintain regular contact with temporary employees throughout assignments.
- Address attendance, performance, and workplace concerns.
- Coordinate assignment extensions, completions, and redeployments.
- Conduct employee check-ins and satisfaction surveys.
Administrative Responsibilities
- Maintain applicant tracking system (ATS) and CRM databases.
- Update candidate records and job postings.
- Prepare daily and weekly recruiting activity reports.
- Assist with payroll information, timesheet collection, and scheduling as needed.
- Support branch operations and special projects.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate's or Bachelor's degree preferred.
- 1-3 years of recruiting, staffing, HR, customer service, or sales experience preferred.
- Staffing agency experience is a plus.
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred but not required.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.

- Hospitality, manufacturing, skilled trades, administrative, or light industrial recruiting.
- High-volume recruiting.
- Cold calling and business development support.
- Payroll or onboarding experience.
Performance Expectations
- Meet weekly and monthly placement goals.
- Maintain an active pipeline of qualified candidates.
- Fill client orders within established timelines.
- Provide exceptional customer service to clients and employees.
- Maintain accurate documentation and compliance standards.
- Contribute to branch growth through candidate referrals and client support.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to sit, stand, and walk throughout the workday.
- Frequent use of computers, phones, and office equipment.
- Ability to occasionally lift up to 20 pounds.
- May travel locally for job fairs, client visits, or recruiting events.
