Position Overview
We are seeking Fire Alarm Technicians to join our growing team. This role involves servicing, inspecting, troubleshooting fire alarm systems for commercial and industrial clients in the Charlotte metro area.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform service, troubleshooting, and repairs on fire alarm systems and related life safety equipment.
- Conduct scheduled inspections and testing of fire alarm systems in compliance with NFPA codes and local regulations.
- Install, program, and commission fire alarm panels, devices, and low-voltage wiring.
- Diagnose system faults, wiring issues, and device malfunctions and complete repairs efficiently.
- Read and interpret blueprints, wiring diagrams, and technical documents.
- Prepare accurate inspection reports, service documentation, and deficiency reports.
- Communicate with customers regarding system performance, repairs, and recommended improvements.
- Ensure all work complies with NFPA 72 and applicable codes.
- Maintain tools, equipment, and a safe and organized job site.
- Work independently or as part of a team to complete service calls and installations.
- Participate in training and certification programs to support professional growth.
Minimum Requirements
- At least 2 years of experience working with fire alarm systems (service, inspections, or installation).
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
- Ability to work in the field
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to read and interpret plans, wiring diagrams, and system layouts.
- Strong communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to work on ladders, lifts, and in various job site environments.
Preferred Qualifications
- NICET Certification (Level I or II) in Fire Alarm Systems, or willingness to obtain.
- Experience with major fire alarm manufacturers such as Notifier, Simplex, Honeywell, or Fire-Lite preferred.
- Knowledge of NFPA standards and local fire codes.
