Certified Welding Inspector
As a Certified Welding Inspector, you will be responsible for in process and final inspections of fabrication projects. You will maintain communication and coordinate inspections with production leaders.
Essential Duties
- Ensure Client QA/QC/NDE requirements are met.
- Coordinate / Schedule third party inspections as required.
- Oversee Welder Certification program and maintain continuity logs.
- Communicates with fabrication personnel regularly and seeks their input on resolving quality issues.
- Assists in identifying and solving quality non-conformances in a timely and cost-effective manner.
- Maintain PQR and WPS records.
- Maintain inspection history of completed projects and trending metrics.
- Determine inspection equipment needs.
- Maintain record of non-conforming material.
- Assist in implementation of Quality Control Program.
Skills & Qualifications
- A current AWS CWI certification and 3 years' experience as Certified Welding Inspector in a fabrication shop setting is required.
- A current level 2 UT certification.
- Knowledge of ASME and API codes and standards.
- Proficiency in AWS D1.1, D1.2 and D1.6 – welding steel, aluminum and stainless steel
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced and demanding environment.
- Strong blueprint reading skills.
- Excellent verbal, writing, and communication skills.
- Excellent computer skills, especially in Microsoft Office, Word and Excel, generating reports and analysis. AutoCad and C-Spec software knowledge is desirable.
- Able to use both metric and standard systems of measurement.

- This is a non-exempt position; overtime will be paid as required by law.
- This position reports to the QA/QC Manager and other responsible managers.

Physical Requirements / Working Environment
- The primary location is 6540 West Nine Mile Road, Pensacola, FL 32526.
- This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work vary (Standard shift is Monday to Thursday 6 am to 4:30 pm) but overtime may be required. Travel may also be required.
- Working environment is often times in harsh elements (hot / humid and/or cold temperatures, rain, etc.). Industrial environments often have exposure to hazardous chemicals, moving heavy equipment, and other safety-sensitive hazards and risks. Must always be alert and able to safely perform the essential duties of the job without risking harm to oneself or others.
