Plumbing Service Journeyman
$35 - $50/hr | Full-Time | Indianapolis, IN

Key Responsibilities:
· Installation & Repair
o Install and repair water, gas, air, and drain piping systems.
o Install and repair water heaters, domestic hot water boilers, circulating pumps, backflow preventers, and thermostatic mixing values.
o Assemble and install valves, pipe fittings, and pipes composed of cast iron, steel, brass, PVC, and copper.
o Join pipes using screws, bolts, fittings, solder, plastic solvent, and caulk joints.
o Install and repair plumbing fixtures such as sinks, toilets, bathtubs, and hot water storage tanks.
· Maintenance & Troubleshooting
o Perform drain cleaning and maintenance tasks.
o Diagnose and resolve plumbing issues efficiently and effectively.
o Maintain good customer relations by communicating clearly, leaving work areas clean and orderly, and addressing customer concerns promptly.
· Operate
o Jetting equipment.
· Safety & Compliance
o Observe job sites and report and correct any unsafe working conditions.
o Be familiar with air quality needs and issues.
o Maintain underground safety while trenching and shoring.
o Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines to ensure a secure working environment.
Qualifications:
· Valid Driver’s License and ability to pass an MVR check.
· Ability to pass a background check and drug screening.
· Ability to climb ladders and work from heights in excess of 4 feet.
· Strong problem solving skills and ability to interpret various instructions.
· Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
· Effective communication skills via telephone to customers and dispatch.
Education & Experience:
· High school diploma or equivalent required.
· Minimum of 5 years related experience and/or training; equivalent combination of education and experience.
· Journeyman’s or Master license preferred; experienced apprentices considered.
Physical Requirements:
· Ability to lift up to 50 lbs regularly.
· Ability to adjust focus for close-up work, with or without correction.
· Ability to pass a physical ability test.
