Position Summary
The Grease Blender is responsible for manufacturing lubricating grease products according to approved batch tickets and production specifications. This role involves blending base oils, additives, and thickeners using reactors, mixers, mills, and transfer pumps. The Grease Blender must follow all safety, quality, and operational procedures to ensure consistent product quality and accurate batch production.
This position requires strong attention to detail, mechanical awareness, and the ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Compensation & Employment Terms
• Starting Pay: $19 per hour
• Temp-to-Hire Position
• After 90+ days, successful employees may be converted to full-time employment
• Day Shift: 6:00 AM – 2:30 PM
• Overtime may be required based on production needs
Key Responsibilities
• Manufacture grease batches following batch tickets and production instructions
• Load and measure base oils, additives, and thickeners according to specifications
• Operate production equipment including:
o Grease reactors/kettles
o Colloid mills
o Transfer pumps and filtration systems
o Mixing and blending equipment
• Monitor temperature, pressure, and batch conditions during grease production
• Perform in-process checks such as penetration, consistency, and appearance
• Transfer finished product to tanks, totes, drums, or packaging lines
• Maintain accurate production records and batch documentation
• Assist with equipment cleaning, flushing, and product changeovers
• Ensure proper labeling and lot traceability of finished products
• Follow all safety procedures and plant operating guidelines
• Maintain clean and organized work areas
Required Qualifications
• Forklift experience required
• Ability to follow written batch instructions and production procedures
• Basic mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills
• Ability to lift 50+ pounds
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy
• Ability to work safely around industrial equipment and chemicals
• Reliable attendance and punctuality
Preferred Qualifications
• Previous experience in lubricant, grease, chemical, or manufacturing production
• Experience operating mills, mixers, or blending equipment
• Familiarity with industrial pumps and transfer systems
• Experience reading batch tickets or production work orders
Physical Requirements
• Standing and walking for extended periods
• Lifting, pushing, and moving drums or materials
• Working in a manufacturing plant environment
• Ability to wear required PPE (Personal Protective Equipment)
