Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Perform a variety of fabrication, wiring and assembly operations on electrical/electronic control panel assemblies or components including layout, assembly, wiring and testing
- Configure and test electronic equipment and systems utilizing command-line interface, web interfaces, and Windows desktop applications
- Travel to job sites is 50% of job
- Use testing equipment and power tools
- PC Computer assembly, setup and testing
- Ensure that acceptable level of quality control is kept
- Ensure that schedules are met
- Perform additional duties, including facility maintenance, as directed by management
Qualifications
- Prior experience with computers and electronics is required
- Ability to lift minimum of 50 pounds
- Ability to differentiate colors
- Availability to travel for work away from office 50% of the time
- Willingness to work inside correctional facilities as required
- Knowledge of and ability to use hand tools (hand drill, drill press, band saw, etc.)
- Ability to solder small wire and components
- Knowledge of and ability to read a tape measure and scale off drawings for equipment layout
- Ability to work with little or no supervision
- Ability to read and understand electrical schematics and instructions
- Must have a clean driving record with valid driver license
- Must pass a criminal history/background check to work inside correctional facilities
- Must furnish basic hand tools (screwdrivers, crimpers, wire strippers, tape measure, multimeter, etc.)
- Must be willing to work overtime when/as required
- Be able to communicate information and ideas so others will understand. Must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations.
Education, Certifications, Licenses
- Electronics degree or equivalent work experience in a related technical area is not required but will improve candidacy.
Working Conditions
- Must be able to remain in a stationary position at a desk or standing for at least 50% of the time.
- Be able to move about inside the shop/warehouse to access equipment and other resources.
- Be able to bend, crouch, or lift heavy objects.
- Be able to engage in repetitive motions, such as typing or using equipment.
- Be able to communicate effectively, conveying information and ideas clearly so others can understand. Must be able to exchange accurate information in these interactions.
- Be able to observe details at close range, e.g. computer screens and printed documents.
- Be able to travel as needed to job sites.
