Position Overview

We are seeking a Senior Operations Manager to work closely with the owner and lead our team of 15 (and growing), spanning bakers, baristas, vendors, and customer-facing staff. This role is central to ensuring exceptional product quality, operational efficiency, and a healthy, positive work environment.

As Zooies expands, the Senior Operations Manager will be considered for promotion to Chief Operations Officer based on performance, leadership, and alignment with company goals.

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain a clean, organized, safe, and productive bakery environment.
• Manage inventory, ordering, vendor relationships, and supply chain needs.
• Collaborate with ownership and kitchen leadership on production planning, prep schedules, and labor scheduling.
• Monitor cost efficiency, production output, and waste reduction.
• Lead quality control for all products—from cookies to coffee.
• Support R&D efforts for new menu items and seasonal releases.
• Create and refine operating procedures, systems, and training manuals.
• Contribute to improving and managing nationwide shipping operations.
• Interview, hire, and support onboarding for bakers, baristas, and cashiers.
• Foster open communication between kitchen staff, owners, and office staff.

Requirements

• Proven experience managing a team.
