Position Summary
The Production Technician is responsible for the assembly, testing, and painting of oil and gas valves in a manufacturing environment. This role requires attention to detail, adherence to quality standards, and the ability to meet production targets while maintaining a safe and organized workspace.
Responsibilities and Duties
Assembly & Production
- Assemble, test, and paint oil and gas valves per work order specifications.
- Read and interpret basic production drawings and work instructions.
- Inspect production components and accurately record heat codes.
- Ensure work orders are charged with appropriate time to complete each task.
- Meet production targets on an hourly, daily, monthly, and annual basis.
Equipment & Tools
- Operate power tools, hand tools, and lift tables safely and effectively.
- Operate overhead cranes and forklifts in accordance with safety procedures.
- Maintain equipment and work areas in a clean, safe, and well-organized condition.
Quality, Safety & Compliance
- Comply with all processes and procedures to ensure ISO and API compliance.
- Identify opportunities for improvement and collaborate with management to implement solutions on an ongoing basis.
Teamwork & Communication
- Interact professionally and maintain a positive working relationship with all team members.
- Complete any and all tasks assigned by management.
Requirements and Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required.
- 1+ years of manufacturing experience preferred.
- Ability to operate cranes and forklifts (certification a plus).
- Comfortable working with hand tools and power tools.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow written instructions.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs.
