Role Overview:
The Chemical Processor is responsible for performing chemical cleaning and etching operations on sheet metal aircraft components. This is an entry-level opportunity with training provided, ideal for candidates interested in manufacturing and aerospace processes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform chemical cleaning and etching on complex metal parts and assemblies
- Operate various cleaning processes including solvent washing, pressure washing, vapor degreasing, and acid etching
- Mix chemicals accurately and monitor temperature and process specifications
- Read and follow manufacturing instructions, blueprints, and safety guidelines
- Inspect parts using measuring tools such as calipers, micrometers, and gauges
- Identify process issues and report or assist in resolving them
- Maintain accurate documentation and time tracking records
- Follow all safety protocols and properly use PPE, including respirators
Required Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED
- Ability to read and interpret basic technical instructions and drawings
- Willingness to learn and work in a manufacturing environment
- Ability to work with minimal supervision
Work Environment & Physical Requirements:
- Requires use of PPE including safety glasses, respirators, gloves, and hearing protection
- Involves physical activity such as lifting up to 50 lbs, standing, bending, and handling materials
- Exposure to chemicals and industrial equipment in a controlled manufacturing setting
