Urban Edible Gardening Job Opportunity

This job speaks to those who have an interest in organic gardening. Our family-run business installs and maintains edible gardens in residential and public settings. We are a group of passionate hard workers that are seeking a new member for our team. The ideal candidate will have: customer service skills, a clear understanding of what professionalism is, and a sense of urgency relating to all tasks performed. You must enjoy working outdoors 30-40 hours per week and be physically capable of bending, kneeling, etc. for a 7-8 hour shift. Farm and/or agricultural experience is a plus. A willingness to learn, COMMON SENSE, a good sense of humor, being able to work with strong personalities, no fear of getting dirty, and being able to roll with the "punches" are all a BIG +++.

Job duties include:

- Care and maintain client gardens and our urban farm -- will train.

- Plant seedlings, care for seedlings/transplants and maintain an organized workspace.

- Plant seeds and seedlings at farm locations as directed.

- Caring and tending to existing crops including but not limited to: harvesting, pruning, light weeding, training, fertilizing (organic only of course), and amending soils.

- Assist in client plantings as part of a team at various locations in the Phoenix Metro area.

- Install irrigation lines as needed -- will train.

- Some weekly farm cleaning duties required.

- Farm produce available to take home weekly.

- Mon-Fri with availability to work an occasional weekends when necessary (VERY rare occasion).

- MUST BE: DETAIL ORIENTED & METICULOUS with speed and efficiency in mind, have a positive attitude, dependable, hard-working and eager to learn.

- MUST be able to lift 40 lbs. and be able to bend and work on knees when needed.

- This is a very physically active position and stamina is a must.

- MUST be able to work outdoors for 8 hours in AZ summer heat.

- MUST have reliable vehicle for garden maintenance and be willing to carry items in vehicle - mileage is reimbursed.

- MUST be ok to work around dogs, cats, & chickens.

- MUST be willing to use time clock app on personal cell phone.
