Quality Assurance Technician – Food Manufacturing (2nd Shift)Location:Poughkeepsie, NY
Employment Type:Full-Time | Temp-to-Perm
Pay Rate:$24.60 per hour + $0.40 shift differential
Schedule:Monday–Friday | 1:00 PM – 9:00 PM
Job OverviewWe are seeking a detail-oriented Quality Assurance Technician to support food safety and quality programs within a busy food manufacturing facility in Poughkeepsie, NY. This position plays a key role in ensuring products meet company, customer, and regulatory standards through inspections, testing, documentation, and production monitoring.
The ideal candidate has prior quality assurance experience and a background in food manufacturing, baking, or food production environments.
Quality Assurance Technician Responsibilities:- Inspect product labels, codes, packaging, and production specifications for accuracy
- Monitor product temperatures and verify compliance with quality and food safety standards
- Conduct routine quality checks on production lines and equipment, including metal detectors
- Perform laboratory testing, including pH and Brix analysis
- Document test results and maintain accurate quality records
- Support food safety, quality assurance, and sanitation programs
- Assist with product evaluations and recipe testing in a test kitchen environment as needed
- Maintain a clean and organized workspace
- Communicate quality concerns and corrective actions to production teams
- Perform additional quality and production support duties as assigned
Qualifications & Skills:- Previous Quality Assurance or Quality Control experience strongly preferred
- Minimum 1–2 years of food manufacturing, food production, or baking experience
- Strong understanding of food safety and quality practices
- Excellent attention to detail and record-keeping skills
- Good verbal and written communication abilities
- Ability to read, understand, and follow written procedures and specifications
- Experience performing quality testing and data documentation preferred
- ServSafe and/or HACCP certifications preferred
- Basic computer skills and familiarity with quality documentation processes
Physical Requirements:- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods
- Comfortable working in a manufacturing and production environment
- Ability to perform routine inspections and testing activities throughout the shift
