Use a Math curriculum to teach content that may include Algebra, Geometry, or Calculus and prepares students for Advanced Placement (AP) and collegiate level coursework. Support students as they solve problems and think critically. Use love of mathematics to foster confidence and meaningful engagement with the subject for students. Cultivate the ability to construct and justify viable arguments using reasoning, math vocabulary, tools, and postulates. Build a community of self-guided learners where students feel safe, confident, and engaged. Work with the Math department to determine academic and engagement goals for students. Meet weekly with principal/instructional coach to analyze and respond to trends in student work samples and assessments. Learn and implement strategies to differentiate instruction. Build positive relationships with students. Partner with students’ families. Engage in practice-based professional development, mentorship, and coaching sessions. Participate in weekly, school-wide meetings. Partner with grade level team to develop academic goals and practice instructional strategies.
