Serve as caregiver to the resident during the scheduled work period in long term care. Provide resident-centered nursing care and daily living assistance to assigned resident under the supervision of a registered nurse (RN). Deliver age-appropriate care related to the physical and psychological needs of the resident as per care plan. Follow infection prevention and control policies and Personal Protective Equipment use. Provide assistance with basic health care needs including daily living activities (bathing, toileting, grooming, dressing/undressing, obtaining and recording vital signs, psychosocial support). Assist residents in transferring, repositioning, and walking. Provide range of motion and passive exercises. Complete tasks related to food preparation and dining. Assist residents with meals and snacks, provide water and supplements. Aid providers and nursing staff members with procedures. Document resident interactions and outcomes. Communicate resident's changing condition and care related concerns/responses to the charge nurse. Collect non-invasive body fluid specimens and gather vital signs. Provide housekeeping and laundry services. Provide assistance and documentation with wellness and recreational programs.
