Serves as an onsite education resource to clinical nurses on orientation. Responsibilities: Makes rounds meeting with clinical nurses on orientation (or recently off orientation) providing education and clinical support to help ensure provision of safe care and ease the transition from advanced beginner to competent clinical nurse. Collaborates with unit educators and preceptors to assess the learning needs of clinical nurses. Participates in the delivery of new clinical staff orientation. Delivers learning activities related to clinical competencies, departmental/organizational policies, regulatory requirements, and the use of clinical information technologies. Serves as a mentor to new clinical staff, participates in evaluating clinical performance of new clinical staff in collaboration with unit leadership.
