The Ultrasound Technologist (sonographer) performs diagnostic procedures utilizing a background in anatomy, physiology, physics and instrumentation to provide technical information to aid the physician. The sonographer will maintain technical skills needed to perform ultrasound procedures to include abdominal, OB/GYN, venous Doppler, small parts, pediatrics (where applicable) and invasive exams. In addition, the sonographer will maintain department supplies and equipment and will participate in the quality control of the ultrasound department. Must have and maintain ONE of the following within the timeframes below: A. American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS) i. RDMS- Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (ABD or OBGYN) B. American Registry of Radiologic Technologist ARRT (S) C. American Registry of Radiologic Technologist ARRT (VS) AND ONE of the following: A. RVT- Registered Vascular Technologist or B. Cardiovascular Credentialing International (RVS). Basic Cardiac Life Support.
