Provide professional nursing care for residents of all ages in long term care. Supervise care under a registered nurse, advanced practice provider, or physician. Demonstrate knowledge of nursing principles. Demonstrate competency and practice within the full scope of nursing expertise/knowledge. Utilize appropriate age and population specific standards. Perform testing to evaluate resident status and provide care. Recognize problems, recommend solutions, and respond effectively in emergent situations. Ensure resident health, comfort, and safety. Administer medications or treatments as ordered. Provide technical support to healthcare professionals. Document resident interactions and outcomes. Establish and maintain effective working relationships. Work effectively with professional and supportive personnel. Communicate clearly and maintain confidentiality. Counsel residents, family members, and/or resident advocate on prevention and treatment plans. Develop self-care programs.
