Provides professional nursing care for residents of all ages in assisted living, under the supervision of a registered nurse, advanced practice provider, or physician. Demonstrates knowledge of nursing principles for the resident in the relevant clinical setting. Utilizes appropriate age and population specific standards related to the physical and psychosocial needs of the resident as per care plan. Performs testing to evaluate data reflective of the resident's status and to provide the care needed. Recognizes problems, recommends solutions and responds effectively to assist in an emergent situation. Ensures the health, comfort and safety of residents. Contributes to the assessment of residents and administers medications or treatments as ordered. Provides technical support to healthcare professionals as needed. Documents resident interactions and outcomes related to resident care, medication, behavior, activity, and dietary. Establishes and maintains effective working relationships with resident, health care providers, and the public. Works effectively with professional and supportive personnel as a member of an interdisciplinary care team. Communicates clearly and maintains confidentiality of sensitive information. Counsels residents, family members and/or resident advocate, under the direction of a registered nurse, advanced practice provider or physician on prevention and treatment plans. Performs other related duties as assigned.
