Assists with planning, coordination and supervision of the Respiratory technical staff during the scheduled shift. Responsible for ensuring minimal staffing for shift coverage and works to increase staffing when patient volumes increase. Assists and leads in the process of new employee orientation and provides input into the interviewing, hiring and selection process of new hires. In addition to performing the task of a staff Respiratory Therapist. Team lead will be trained to perform Pulmonary Function Testing and/or Electroencephalograms (EEG). Participates in appraisal process of staff with Director. Develops monthly work schedule for technical staff. Monitors Facility Scheduler on a regular basis to maximize/minimize staffing to meet patient care needs. Shares responsibility for logging payroll hours into the KRONOS system. Shares responsibility for ordering departmental operation supplies and assists with inventory control. Assists with departmental PI projects. Assist Director of Cardiopulmonary with management of Blood Gas Laboratory. Performs monthly quality controls (QCs). Participates with Shared Governance and acts as the department DESSO.
