Job Title: Warehouse Associate
Job Description
This role focuses on manually unloading full truckload shipments, accurately reading product labels and SKUs, and organizing merchandise on designated pallets in the receiving bay. You serve as a key part of the e-commerce operation, ensuring bulk products are correctly received, separated, and organized for stocking, inventory management, and order fulfillment. The position primarily handles shoes and apparel, with individual items generally weighing no more than 20–25 pounds, while occasional lifting of heavier items up to 50+ pounds is required.
Responsibilities
- Manually unload full truckload trailers without the use of equipment, handling cartons of shoes, clothing, and other products.
- Read and interpret SKUs, product labels, and PRO numbers to ensure items are correctly identified and routed.
- Palletize products accurately by placing items on specific pallets according to SKU and receiving instructions.
- Separate and organize bulk product in the receiving bay to prepare items for stocking, inventory, and fulfillment activities.
- Perform receiving tasks including counting items, verifying quantities, and documenting discrepancies as needed.
- Support inventory processes by ensuring products are correctly labeled, stickered, and tracked.
- Maintain high levels of accuracy and attention to detail while working efficiently in a fast-paced warehouse environment.
- Adhere to proper lifting techniques and safe material handling practices when moving and stacking products.
- Remain at the workstation during busy periods and respond promptly when drivers arrive for deliveries or pickups.
- Adapt to fluctuating workloads, staying prepared for busy spurts of work as well as potential downtimes of 15–45 minutes.
- Collaborate with team members, demonstrating a team-oriented mindset and supporting others as needed.
- Follow all warehouse policies, procedures, and safety guidelines within a large-scale third-party logistics operation.
Essential Skills
- Ability to manually unload trailers and handle physical warehouse tasks throughout the shift.
- Strong attention to detail to accurately read SKUs, product labels, and PRO numbers for pallet and shipment identification.
- Capability to count accurately, perform simple math, and write legibly for receiving and inventory documentation.
- Comfort working with e-commerce-focused inventory, including shoes, apparel, and a variety of other products.
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods in a large-scale warehouse environment.
- Ability to lift 50+ pounds and safely handle repetitive lifting of items typically weighing 20–25 pounds.
- Physical ability to twist, stoop, squat, crouch, and reach above shoulder level on a frequent basis.
- Consistent use of proper lifting techniques and safe body mechanics during all material handling activities.
- Reliability and willingness to remain at the workstation during busy periods without leaving unexpectedly.
- Team-oriented mindset with a commitment to supporting coworkers and maintaining workflow during fluctuating demand.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Forklift experience is not required, making this role accessible to candidates without equipment operation.
- Exposure to warehouse environments, shipping, receiving, loading, unloading, inventory, and palletizing is beneficial.
- Familiarity with stand-up lifts, stand-up forklifts, or other warehouse equipment is a plus but not mandatory.
- Experience working with SKUs, PRO numbers, and tracking systems for pallets and LTL/FTL shipments is advantageous.
- Comfort handling a wide variety of products, including footwear, apparel, electronics, food items, and aerospace-related goods.
