Job Title: CNC Machine OperatorJob DescriptionThis role produces high-quality machined metal parts by setting up and operating CNC and manual machines, maintaining quality and safety standards, accurately documenting work, and ensuring equipment and supplies remain in good working order.
Responsibilities- Operate CNC machines and related production equipment to manufacture metal components according to specifications.
- Perform basic machine setups, including loading materials, setting tooling, and adjusting machine parameters as needed.
- Complete tool changes and make necessary adjustments to maintain part quality and machine efficiency.
- Read and interpret blueprints, work orders, and technical drawings to determine machining requirements.
- Measure and inspect parts using calipers, micrometers, tape measures, and other precision measuring tools to verify conformance to specifications.
- Work with various metals such as steel, stainless steel, copper, and aluminum in an industrial fabrication environment.
- Operate equipment including CNC mills, drill presses, punch presses, lathes, and other fabrication machinery as assigned.
- Monitor machine performance during production runs and identify, report, and help resolve quality or process issues.
- Maintain accurate production records, inspection documentation, and any required job-related paperwork.
- Follow all safety procedures, lockout/tagout practices, and company policies while performing daily tasks.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area, including routine cleaning and basic preventive maintenance on machines.
- Collaborate with supervisors and team members to meet daily production goals and support continuous improvement efforts.
- Successfully complete and apply results from tape measure tests and other measurement-related assessments as required.
Essential Skills- Previous CNC machine operation experience in an industrial or shop environment.
- Hands-on experience with precision measuring tools and hand tools, including calipers, micrometers, and tape measures.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, work orders, and technical drawings.
- Basic math skills, including the ability to calculate measurements and tolerances.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and comfort working with machinery and metal fabrication processes.
- Experience operating mills, including 1–2 years of mill operation experience.
- Ability to operate or learn to operate lathes and other machining equipment.
- Ability to pass a tape measure test and accurately use measurement tools.
- Capability to work safely around moving mechanical parts and in a loud industrial environment.
- Reliability and consistency in attendance and work habits to support production goals.
