Position Summary
The Home Visitor conducts one on one parenting education and community resource referrals in the homes or community settings of families with children ages 0-17, develops service plans, facilitates assessments and screenings, utilizes and follows program model to fidelity, maintains client chart & computer chart records, attends regular trainings and meetings, conducts outreach to engage families in the program and facilitates Family Resource Center events, classes, groups and activities.
Required Qualifications
· High School Diploma or equivalency required.
· Bachelor’s degree in the field of Social Work, Child Development or Psychology preferred.
· Two plus years related client experience, including home visitation experience, OR an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job.
· Bilingual fluency in written, and spoken language in English and one of the following is preferred: Farsi, Dari, Pashto, Russian or Spanish.
· Strong administrative, time management and organizational skills.
· Clear, effective and respectful verbal and written communication skills.
· Knowledge of child abuse issues and family dynamics, substance abuse issues and treatment, domestic violence issues and resources, community resources, and human development.
· Ability to work with a team and independently.
· Ability to present information in a group setting in a clear and concise manner.
· Ability to work set schedule with occasional evenings and weekends.
· Demonstrates computer skills including ability to utilize word processing, spread sheets, email and calendar, and various documentation websites.
· Willing to use own transportation to and from the office, home and community visits and assigned trainings.
· Ability to establish rapport and maintain personal and professional boundaries while providing supportive services.
· Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to relate to individuals who may not share basic commonality, including value systems and behavior norms.
· Ability to provide culturally and linguistically appropriate services.
