Your expertise will support a caseload of approximately 32 elementary students, ranging from those who attend special education classes full-time to those who receive services as needed. You’ll benefit from strong classroom support provided by paraprofessionals, ensuring you have the resources necessary to help every child succeed.

Key qualifications:

• Valid Oregon Teaching Certificate, with appropriate special education endorsement
• Experience teaching elementary students, particularly in special education settings
• Ability to develop and implement IEPs for students with diverse needs
• Exceptional communication skills for partnering with support staff, parents, and service providers
• Collaborative approach to working within a multidisciplinary team

Primary responsibilities:

• Deliver differentiated instruction tailored to students with mild to moderate disabilities
• Create a positive, inclusive classroom environment fostering academic and social development
• Assess student progress, adjust teaching strategies as needed, and maintain thorough documentation
• Coordinate with paraprofessionals and other team members to support each child’s unique needs
• Engage with families and contribute to collaborative IEP meetings
