Additional Compensation Details:
- $75,000 - $85,000 +
- Potential 90-day performance-based raise

Job Description
Job Summary:
The Senior Staff Accountant leads complex accounting and financial reporting activities, ensuring timely, accurate, and compliant financial statements, consolidated reporting, reconciliations, budgeting support, and management reporting. This role partners closely with operations and leadership to provide clear financial insight, strengthen internal controls, support audit readiness, and contribute to the development of accounting team members.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Financial Reporting and Close
- Lead month-end and year-end close processes, including reconciliations, accruals, journal entries, intercompany activity, and general ledger review.
- Prepare accurate and timely financial statements, management reports, and variance analyses in accordance with GAAP and regulatory requirements.
- Budgeting, Forecasting, and Financial Planning
- Assist with development and maintenance of budgeting, forecasting, cash flow reporting, and working capital monitoring processes.
- Monitor cash flow, liquidity, debt compliance requirements, and key balance sheet accounts; follow up on risks and variances.
- Internal Controls and Compliance
- Establish, document, and strengthen internal controls to safeguard company assets and improve accounting process consistency.
- Support internal and external audit requirements by preparing schedules, responding to requests, and ensuring compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
- Accounts and Cross-Functional Support
- Work with Sales to review aging accounts, identify collection priorities, and resolve account discrepancies.
- Coordinate with Grower Liaison to ensure credits, adjustments, and account activity are researched, documented, and applied correctly.
- Operational Partnership and Reporting
- Partner with operations to deliver timely financial insight related to crop production, inventory, costs, margins, and business performance.
- Present financial information in clear, dashboard-style formats that support decision-making by management and operational leaders.
- Team Leadership and Development
- Guide, mentor, and support accounting team members; review work and promote continuous improvement.
- Food Safety
- All employees are responsible for food safety and are expected to notify the appropriate manager or supervisor if they witness any compromise to food safety or food quality.
Qualifications
Desired Minimum Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required; CPA, CMA, or progress toward certification preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years of progressively responsible accounting experience, including month-end close, reconciliations, financial statement preparati
