HHM Talent is assisting a VC backed client in their search for a Strategic Projects Lead in San Francisco, CA.

Position Overview

This is a founding operations leadership role working directly with the executive team across product development, AI research, customer delivery, and company operations.

The Strategic Projects Lead owns delivery of high-value contracts with frontier AI labs, manage teams of domain experts, interface directly with AI researchers, and execute critical company initiatives. This is an extremely high-agency, execution-focused role designed for people who thrive in demanding startup environments.

Responsibilities

• Lead delivery of high-value AI data contracts for frontier AI labs
• Manage teams of experts across finance, software engineering, science, healthcare, and other domains
• Collaborate with internal research teams on next-generation AI datasets
• Execute strategic cross-functional initiatives as an early employee
• Support company operations across multiple business functions
• Interface directly with researchers and technical stakeholders
• Own projects from execution through successful delivery

Qualifications

• Demonstrated history of exceptional execution in high-pressure environments
• Strong leadership and communication skills
• Passion for AI and entrepreneurship

• Ability to own large, ambiguous projects
• Willingness to work 60-70+ hours per week
• Comfortable working 6-7 days per week
• Must work in-person in San Francisco

Compensation and Benefits

• $130,000 - $150,000 base salary
• Up to $300,000 total cash compensation
• 2% - 0.5% equity
• Profit sharing from managed contracts
