Spee Dee Delivery is a family owned and operated company that was started in 1978 by Donald and Sylvia Weeres. Our core business is in standard, next-day, ground delivery. The corporate headquarters and main sort facility is located in St. Cloud, MN. We currently employ over 1,800 employees company wide and over the years we have expanded to 36 branch locations, within 9 states.

Job Summary

The CDL Group Leader will oversee and lead a group of CDL Drivers in their day-to-day activities to ensure timely, safe, and efficient operations.

Hours and Wages

• Monday - Friday, exempt salary position
• Starting wage: $60,000 - $75,000 based on relevant years of experience, education, certifications, and comparison to other employees already in this role

Duties and Responsibilities

• Complete routes for employees who are absent
• Prepare, manage, and track daily department reports
• Monitor route work to ensure it is being performed properly and freight is disbursed appropriately
• Enforce safety, DOT, and company policies
• Recommend and implement measures to improve productivity, equipment performance, work methods, and customer service
• Evaluate and complete probationary and annual employee performance reviews
• Assist CDL Manager and other management to resolve employee issues and discipline
• Participate in weekly meetings and communicate goals and assignments
• Hire, train, discipline, and onboard new staff
• Frequent travel is required
• Perform other required duties as assigned

Education and Experience

• At least 21 years of age
• High school diploma or equivalent required
• 1+ year of experience in the transportation industry and leadership preferred
• Must hold a valid CDL Class A driver's license

Physical Requirements

• Ability to pass a DOT physical exam
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds repetitively and up to 100 pounds occasionally
• Ability to work with all types to freight which include, but are not limited to hazardous material, perishable food and alcohol, firearms, ammunition, and live animals
