Virtual School Occupational Therapist (OT)

We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Occupational Therapist (OT) to join our virtual school team in Nevada. The Virtual School Occupational Therapist will provide remote occupational therapy services to students enrolled in our virtual school program. This position offers the opportunity to make a positive impact on the lives of students while enjoying the flexibility of remote work.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct virtual assessments to evaluate students' fine motor skills, sensory processing, visual-motor integration, and activities of daily living.
- Develop individualized education plans (IEPs) based on assessment findings and collaborate with the student's educational team to implement appropriate interventions.
- Provide direct virtual occupational therapy services to students, including therapeutic exercises, activities, and interventions to improve motor skills, sensory processing, and functional abilities.
- Monitor and document student progress, adjusting therapy goals and interventions as needed to support student success.
- Communicate regularly with students, parents, teachers, and other members of the educational team to provide updates on student progress and collaborate on intervention strategies.
- Participate in virtual IEP meetings, providing input and recommendations for students' occupational therapy needs.
- Stay informed about best practices, current research, and trends in virtual occupational therapy and education, incorporating new knowledge into therapy interventions and strategies.
- Adhere to all state and federal regulations, ethical standards, and professional guidelines related to virtual occupational therapy practice.
Qualifications:
- Master's degree (or higher) in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program.
- Current license to practice occupational therapy in the state of Nevada.
- Certification by the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy (NBCOT).
- Experience working as an occupational therapist in a school setting, preferably in a virtual or teletherapy environment.
- Strong understanding of child development, learning theory, and educational strategies.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to effectively collaborate with students, parents, teachers, and other members of the educational team.
- Proficient in using technology for virtual therapy sessions and documentation.
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively in a remote work environment.
