Job Summary/Company:

Sparks Group, in collaboration with a reputable, 20+ year-old federal government contractor, is searching for a skilled Project Accountant. The Project Accountant will handle advanced accounting responsibilities for various contracts, will possess strong knowledge of accounting principles and be able to work autonomously. Responsibilities:

• Establish cost accounting structure for new contracts with project management
• Provide accounting/financial information and assist project management in data interpretation
• Prepare, review, and submit customer invoices and financial Contract Data Requirement Lists.
• Liaise with DFAS and contracting staff, and Prepare journal entries for monthly closes.
• Review costs and balance sheet transactions for compliance with policies and regulations

Required Skills:

• 5+ years of federal government contract Accounting experience
• Experience in FAR, GAAP, CAS. Knowledge of federal accounting processes and regulations
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication. Ability to work independently and in a team
• CostPoint experience strongly preferred
• Position requires active Secret Clearance (will verify)
