Job Description:
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Emergency Room RN for a 13-week night shift assignment. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership abilities, with a preference for those with critical care and charge nurse experience. While entry-level candidates with a minimum of one year of acute care nursing experience may be considered, a strong understanding of emergency care principles and the ability to intervene in life-threatening situations is essential.
Requirements:
- License: Current New York State RN license
- Certifications: BLS and ACLS required; PALS required or must be obtained within 6 months of hire/transfer
- Experience:
- Graduate from an accredited School of Nursing
- Critical care and charge nurse experience preferred
- Must successfully plete a lethal dysrhythmia exam during probation and be defibrillation certified within 6 months of employment
- IV, medication, and phlebotomy certification required during orientation
- Skills:
- Ability to assess patient needs, including clinical, teaching, mental, and spiritual aspects
- Proficiency in recognizing and addressing safety issues
- Strong problem-solving and leadership skills, with the ability to prioritize and delegate tasks effectively
- Must function well under stress and demonstrate excellent interpersonal, organizational, and munication skills
- May be required to assume duties as a charge nurse
