Oakwood Residential Facility is currently seeking dedicated and compassionate Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs) to join our team on both day and night shifts. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals looking to start their career in healthcare or for seasoned professionals seeking a supportive and rewarding work environment. No prior experience is required as we provide comprehensive training and mentorship programs.

Shift: AM and PM
Sign-On Bonus: $1,500
Responsibilities:
LPNs work with RNs to perform nursing delegated duties in the care of ill or injured residents. They will prepare, administer, and chart medication, give injections, administer G-tube feedings and care, and accept and account for drugs and equipment. LPNs will explain medication purposes, dosages, and possible side effects to residents and others. They will gather preliminary medical information from residents for physicians, and report unusual incidents with staff or residents. LPNs schedule residents to see the physician and assist in these examinations. They take temperatures, pulses, and respirations and record on residents' charts.
Must Have:
· LPN license – Kentucky or Compact
· BLS certification
· New graduates accepted!

The facility, located on 200 acres in Somerset, Kentucky opened in 1972. New Vista began management of Oakwood in 2006. Staff provide care 24 hours a day, 7 days a week ensuring each residents services, created by an interdisciplinary team, are fulfilled.
At Oakwood, our mission is to assist individuals in developing skills and interests to reach personal goals and live meaningful and balanced lives. Residents participate in more than 30 enrichment classes offered during the day, are active in a community bowling league, take part in a variety of Special Olympics events with both an indoor pool and gymnasium on the campus. Spring Carnivals, Fall Festivals and Winter Galas are some of the special events held each year. In addition, residents have employment opportunities both on and off campus. Residents create products for and work in our boutique Expressions Tea and Gift and garden center Oak Hill Nursery.

The doctors and staff are experts in treating persons with IDD and communicating with their families. Services are based on best practices in IDD treatment.
