Job Summary
- Prepare tissue specimens from various parts of the body for diagnostic examination.
- Assist the pathologist in cutting and preparing specimens for microscopic evaluation.
- Operate complex immunohistochemical stainers to produce targeted immunostains.
- Evaluate and validate new immunohistochemical tests, select proper control specimens, and perform cryotomy to prepare and stain tissue for rapid intraoperative cancer diagnosis.
- Independently plan and organize daily responsibilities within the histology section and ensure timely processing and shipment of surgical cases and other pathologic specimens to specialty labs.

Qualifications
- At least 1 year of experience as a Histopathology Technician in a clinical/medical setting.
- Must be direct lab experience assisting pathologists with: processing human specimen; assisting clinical staff with examining tissues and body part for abnormalities; utilizing automated data equipment to create a test log and/or input test results; reviewing patient medical records in a laboratory setting.
- No degree required.
- No ASCP certification required.
