Position Overview:
We are looking for a compassionate and dedicated Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to provide 1:1 support for a high school student in Branford, CT. The student is temporarily using a wheelchair and requires assistance throughout the school day and during transportation to and from school. The LPN will be integral in managing the student's medical and daily care needs, including riding the bus with the student.

Responsibilities:

• Direct Care: Provide 1:1 nursing care and support for a high school student, including assistance with mobility and any other medical needs.
• Transportation: Accompany the student on the bus to and from school, ensuring safety and comfort during transit.
• Extended Hours: Stay with the student for an additional hour once a week as required.
• Classroom Support: Assist in a behavior class, providing necessary medical and emotional support as needed.
• Collaboration: Work closely with teachers, parents, and school staff to coordinate care and ensure the student's well-being.

Requirements:

• Licensure: Valid LPN license in the state of Connecticut.
• Experience: Experience with pediatric or adolescent patients, especially those with mobility challenges, is preferred.
• Skills: Strong observational and communication skills, ability to work independently, and capacity to handle challenging situations in a behavior classroom setting.
• Attributes: Patience, empathy, and resilience, particularly in handling behavioral challenges.
