School Social Worker

Location: Frankfort, IL

Job Description: We are seeking a dedicated and passionate School Social Worker to join our team in Frankfort, IL. The School Social Worker will play a crucial role in supporting students' emotional, social, and academic development. This position involves working closely with students, families, and school staff to address barriers to learning, promote mental health, and foster a positive school environment.

Educational Requirements:

• Masters degree in Social Work (MSW) or a related field
• Valid Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) with a School Social Worker endorsement

Responsibilities:

• Provide individual and group counseling to students dealing with social, emotional, or behavioral challenges
• Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and parents to develop strategies for addressing student needs
• Conduct assessments to identify students' social and emotional needs and develop appropriate intervention plans
• Serve as a liaison between the school, families, and munity agencies to ensure students receive necessary support services
• Assist in crisis intervention and provide immediate support for students in distress
• Participate in the development and implementation of Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) and 504 Plans
• Advocate for students' rights and well-being within the school system
• Conduct workshops and training sessions for staff and parents on topics related to mental health, social skills, and student wellness

Certifications:

• Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) with School Social Worker endorsement
• Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) is preferred but not required
