This position offers a fulfilling role in supporting the academic, social, and emotional well-being of students within our school district.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive psychological assessments to evaluate students' cognitive, academic, social, and emotional functioning.
- Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other professionals to develop and implement effective interventions and support strategies for students.
- Provide individual and group counseling services to students, addressing a range of issues such as academic performance, behavior, and mental health concerns.
- Participate in the development and review of Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) for students with special needs, ensuring appropriate goals and accommodations are in place.
- Support the implementation of Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports (PBIS) and other school-wide programs aimed at promoting a positive and inclusive learning environment.
- Collaborate with community resources and agencies to coordinate services for students and their families.
Requirements:
- Master's or doctoral degree in School Psychology from an accredited program.
- Valid state licensure or certification as a School Psychologist in Oregon (or eligibility for licensure).
- Knowledge of assessment tools and techniques, including intelligence and achievement tests, behavioral observations, and social-emotional assessments.
- Experience conducting psychological evaluations and interpreting assessment results.
- Strong understanding of special education laws and regulations, including the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA).
