Overview: The Coal Center School District is looking for an enthusiastic and experienced Speech-Language Pathologist to join our team. The SLP will provide essential speech and language services to students, helping them overcome communication challenges to succeed academically and socially.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive assessments to identify speech, language, and communication disorders.
- Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored to each students needs.
- Provide direct speech and language therapy to students in individual and group settings.
- Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other school staff to support student progress.
- Maintain accurate records of assessments, treatment plans, and student progress.
- Participate in IEP meetings, providing professional insights and recommendations.
- Conduct screenings and provide consultations as needed.
- Stay updated with best practices and advancements in speech-language pathology.
- Provide training and support to school staff on speech and language development and disorders.
Qualifications:
- Masters degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program.
- Pennsylvania state license to practice Speech-Language Pathology.
- Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA).
- Pennsylvania Department of Education certification for Speech-Language Pathologists.
- Knowledge of IDEA and state and federal regulations governing special education.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Experience in a school setting is preferred but not required.
Required Licensure and Certifications:
- Pennsylvania State License: Must hold and maintain a valid license to practice speech-language pathology in Pennsylvania.
- ASHA Certification: Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association.
- Pennsylvania Department of Education Certification: Certification for Speech-Language Pathologists, which includes meeting all state educational requirements and passing relevant examinations.
