Overview: Lindale Independent School District is seeking a dynamic and empathetic School Counselor to join our team. The School Counselor will play a key role in providing counseling services to students, supporting their academic, career, and personal/social development.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct individual and group counseling sessions to address academic, career, and personal/social needs of students.
- Collaborate with teachers, parents, and administrators to support student success.
- Administer and interpret assessments to identify student strengths and challenges.
- Develop and implement interventions for students experiencing academic or behavioral difficulties.
- Assist students in setting academic and career goals.
- Provide crisis intervention and support as needed.
- Participate in Individualized Education Program (IEP) meetings to support students with disabilities.
- Maintain accurate and confidential student records.
Qualifications:
- Master's degree in School Counseling or related field from an accredited institution.
- Texas state licensure as a School Counselor.
- Certification from the Texas Education Agency (TEA) as a School Counselor.
- Knowledge of counseling theories, techniques, and best practices.
- Strong interpersonal and munication skills.
- Ability to work effectively with a diverse student population and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team.
Required Licensure and Certifications:
- Texas State Licensure: Must hold and maintain a valid license as a School Counselor in Texas.
- Texas Education Agency Certification: Certification as a School Counselor from the Texas Education Agency.
