Job Description: We are seeking dedicated Paraprofessionals to provide crucial support to students in a school-based environment. As a Paraprofessional, you will work closely with educators and other professionals to create a nurturing learning environment and assist students, particularly those with special needs, in reaching their educational goals.
Responsibilities:
- Provide direct support to students with diverse learning needs, including those with special education requirements.
- Assist students with academic tasks, assignments, and projects under the guidance of the supervising teacher.
- Support classroom management by helping to maintain a positive and inclusive learning environment.
- Implement behavior management strategies and interventions as directed by the teacher or special education team.
- Foster positive relationships with students, families, and colleagues to promote student success and well-being.
- Assist with student transitions between classrooms, activities, and routines.
- Provide personal care assistance to students as needed, including toileting, feeding, and mobility support.
- Collaborate with classroom teachers and special education staff to implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) and other instructional plans.
- Maintain accurate records of student progress, behavior, and other relevant data as required by school policies.
- Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge in supporting students with diverse needs.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional coursework or training in education or special education preferred.
- Prior experience working with students, particularly those with special needs, in an educational or similar setting.
- Familiarity with behavior management techniques, instructional strategies, and assistive technology used in special education.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with students, families, and colleagues.
- Patience, empathy, and a genuine commitment to supporting the academic and social-emotional growth of all students.
- Ability to adapt to changing situations and student needs in a dynamic school environment.
- Must meet all requirements set by local and state regulations for paraprofessionals in educational settings.
