Overview: Mount Jackson Public Schools is seeking a dedicated and qualified School Psychologist to join our team. The School Psychologist will play a vital role in supporting the academic achievement and mental health of our students.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct psychological assessments to evaluate students' cognitive, academic, social, and emotional functioning.
- Interpret assessment results and make remendations for interventions and acmodations.
- Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other professionals to develop and implement strategies to support student success.
- Provide counseling and crisis intervention services to students as needed.
- Participate in Individualized Education Program (IEP) meetings and contribute to the development of IEP goals.
- Provide consultation to teachers and staff on behavioral and academic interventions.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of assessments, interventions, and services provided.
Qualifications:
- Master's or Doctoral degree in School Psychology from an accredited program.
- Virginia state licensure as a School Psychologist.
- Certification from the Virginia Department of Education for School Psychologists.
- Knowledge of federal and state laws and regulations related to special education.
- Strong interpersonal and munication skills.
Required Licensure and Certifications:
- Virginia State License: Must hold and maintain a valid license to practice as a School Psychologist in Virginia.
- Virginia Department of Education Certification: Certification for School Psychologists, meeting all state educational and examination requirements.
