Caseload:Kinder through 8th Grade. Additional caseload information will be provided when you apply, as well as in your interview.
Location:Los Angeles CA 90011
Duration: Full Time for 2024/2025 school year
Position: Special Education Teacher

Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs).
• Tailor instruction to effectively accommodate various learning styles and abilities.
• Employ a variety of teaching methods and advanced technologies to actively engage students.
• Monitor student progress closely and adjust instructional approaches as needed.
• Collaborate closely with educators, counselors, and specialists.
• Maintain consistent and open communication with parents/guardians regarding student progress and goals.

Qualifications:

• Bachelors degree in Special Education or a related field (Masters degree preferred).
• Valid CaliforniaSpecial Education Teaching License or eligibility to obtain one.
• Demonstrated experience working with students who have diverse learning needs.
• Proficiency in developing and implementing IEPs to meet individual student needs.
• Exceptional communication skills and ability to establish positive relationships.

Preferred Skills:

• Bilingual or familiarity with ESOLteaching strategies
• Familiarity with effective evidence-based behavior management techniques and positive behavior supports.
• Ability to thrive in a collaborative team environment.
