Responsibilities:

• Provide high-quality sign language interpretation services during virtual classroom sessions, meetings, and other school-related activities.
• Facilitate effective communication between deaf or hard-of-hearing students and their peers, teachers, and school staff.
• Collaborate closely with educators and support staff to ensure that the needs of students with hearing impairments are met.
• Adhere to professional standards and ethics in sign language interpretation, maintaining confidentiality and neutrality at all times.
• Stay updated on relevant educational materials and resources to enhance interpretation services and support student learning.

Qualifications:

• Fluency in American Sign Language (ASL)
• EIPA Score
• Certification as a Sign Language Interpreter or equivalent qualification.
• Experience working as a sign language interpreter in a school-based or educational setting preferred.
• Comfortable using technology for remote interpretation, including video conferencing platforms and other digital tools.
