Calling on Occupational Therapists based in the area of Brookline, MA and who want to make an impact in children's lives! Soliant is working with a local school, and is seeking a contract Occupational Therapist for the uping year.
Requirements:
MA Occupational Therapist license
Prior experience with pediatrics preferred
As a school based OT, the applicant will:
Evaluate current students on caseload, as well as new referrals,by reviewing their medical history, interviewing them, and observing them perform various tasks
Periodically assess student progress toward goals as defined in their Individual Education Plans (IEPs)
Propose appropriate goals for new referrals, and remend OT services in support of those goals
Where needed, propose adjustments to student IEPs
Help students fine-tune, or relearn daily living tasks
Demonstrate exercises or remending activities at home to help children needing support with physical disabilities, or needing help with gross and fine motor skill development, or sensory or emotional regulation
Evaluate school environment to identify potential accessibility improvements
Educate a student's family about how to acmodate and care for them
Remend special equipment, such as mobility aids and eating aids, and instruct clients and families on how to use it
Assess and record student activities and progress for the purposes of evaluations or billing
