Speech-Language Pathologist Assistant (SLPA) - School District near Dover, NH
Introductory Paragraph: Soliant Health is currently seeking a dedicated Speech-Language Pathologist Assistant (SLPA) to join a reputable school district near Dover, NH. This is a full-time position with an immediate start date and contract duration through June 15, 2023. The SLPA will primarily work with a high school caseload, assisting in the implementation of speech and language therapy programs under the guidance of a licensed Speech-Language Pathologist.
Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with licensed Speech-Language Pathologists to develop and implement individualized treatment plans for students with speech and language disorders.
- Provide direct support to students in both one-on-one and small group settings, focusing on improving communication skills, articulation, fluency, and language comprehension.
- Assist in conducting screenings, evaluations, and assessments to identify students in need of speech and language services.
- Maintain accurate documentation of student progress, session notes, and relevant data in compliance with district and state regulations.
- Support classroom teachers and other educational staff in implementing strategies to facilitate students' communication skills across academic settings.
- Communicate effectively with parents, caregivers, and other stakeholders to provide updates on student progress and collaborate on home-based interventions.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Speech-Language Pathology, Communication Sciences and Disorders, or related field from an accredited institution.
- Current certification as a Speech-Language Pathologist Assistant (SLPA) or eligibility for certification in the state of New Hampshire.
- Prior experience working with school-aged children, preferably in an educational or clinical setting.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Knowledge of evidence-based practices and therapeutic techniques for addressing a variety of speech and language disorders.
- Proficiency in conducting screenings, assessments, and data collection to inform treatment planning and monitor progress.
- Familiarity with relevant laws, regulations, and best practices governing the provision of speech and language services in schools.
