Nuclear Medicine TechnologistHealthCare Support is actively seeking
Nuclear Medicine Technologist to fill an opening with a
large healthcare organization in Everrett, WA.
Daily Responsibilities for a Nuclear Medicine Technologist:• Uses established scanner protocols based on needs of the individual patient and ordered examination
• Adheres to radiation safety protocols which includes a basic understanding of Facility Radioactive Materials (RAM) licensure, radiation exposure control for patients, staff, and general public, personnel monitoring devices, area radiation monitoring and surveys, and handles radiation decontamination according to Federal and State guidelines.
• Demonstrates proficiency with
radiopharmaceuticals including proper selection, ordering, handling and preparation, storage and disposal, and proper radioactive materials documentation
• Administers oral and intravenous
radiopharmaceuticals and standard adjunctive medications as authorized and assists authorized users in receipt and administration of therapeutic radionuclides
• Maintains the cleanliness of the nuclear camera and associated equipment in accordance with the infection control policies and procedures
Shift Start/End Time: Monday through Friday. Shifts rotate weekly. Week 1 6am - 2:30pm, Week 2 8am - 4:30pm, Week 3 9am - 5:30pm. Repeat.
Required Qualifications for Nuclear Medicine Technologist:- High school diploma, GED or equivalent experience.
- Requires CNMT license
- Current NMTCB
- Active WA state license or pending application
What does the candidate need to be able to do to be successful in this role? Our Nuclear Medicine department is extremely busy. Must be able to multi-task, strong patient care skills, strong IV skills, good communication skills. Strong team player, this is a three person team and each person has to be a contributor.
