The Robert Half Healthcare Practice is working with a prominent healthcare organization in the Indianapolis Area to find a Medical Payment Posting Specialist to join their team.

Hours: Monday - Friday 8am - 4:30pm

Responsibilities for the position include the following:

• Apply patient payments to the correct line item charges within the medical billing system.
• Ensure timely processing of payments received through various channels (cash, check, credit card, etc.).
• Reconcile discrepancies between patient payments and system records.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient account information.
• Promptly address account adjustments and updates while upholding data integrity.
• Research and resolve discrepancies in patient billing statements.
• Analyze explanation of benefits (EOBs) from insurance companies, patients, and government agencies.
• Distribute payments based on EOB instructions and patient financial responsibility.
• Research and resolve denied or underpaid claims.
• Balance daily lockbox deposits and electronic remittance advices (ERAs) with system records.
• Identify and investigate discrepancies in financial reports.
• Prepare reconciliation reports for accounting purposes
• May include customer service interaction with patients regarding billing inquiries and concerns.
• Staying updated on healthcare billing regulations and coding practices.
• Maintaining a high level of accuracy and attention to detail in all tasks.

• Posting experience in all carrier types required
• Understanding of EOBs
