Position: Nurse Practitioner
Location: OKC, OK
Education: Completion of a formal program of study approved by the Oklahoma Board of Nursing which is designed to prepare registered nurses to perform in an expanded role in the delivery of health care.
• Licensure/Certification: National certification from a national certifying body acceptable by the Oklahoma Board of Nursing. Current BLS certification required. ACLS certification within 60 days of hire.
• Working Knowledge: Able to provide direct patient care to patients in both the stable and acute care settings.
• Essential Technical/Motor Skills: Ability to manipulate various types of electronic and clinical equipment, calibrate and troubleshoot equipment, IV infusions, and computer equipment in the Hospital. Ability to operate the specialty equipment in the department and to perform tasks at a “user” level.
• Interpersonal Skills: Must possess the ability to communicate fluently in English, both verbally and in writing, and effectively share information in a timely manner. Must be able to effectively interact and communicate with all staff, physicians, patients and families, based on the patient’s willingness and ability to learn. Must be sensitive to cultural and bilingual issues and be able to communicate in a clear and understandable manner appropriate to the age/developmental stage of the patient or visitor.
• Essential Sensory Requirements: Must be able to effectively respond to patient/family needs by interpreting verbal and non-verbal expressions. Ability to collect and analyze sensory data and political dynamics and intervene appropriately. Must have clarity of vision and be able to distinguish between colors. Ability to distinguish between sounds and be able to hear alarms, telephones, normal speaking voice and code announcements.
A client of Insight Global's is in search of a talented Mid-Level Nurse Practitioner to join their OKC, OK based practice on a full time, direct hire basis.
Responsibilities include:
• Responsible for taking medical history, assessing medical conditions and interpreting findings
• Responsible for preparing and maintaining records and dictating reports
• Establish and maintain effective working relationships with patients , families and medical staff
• Clinical evaluation and documentation of patients: prepare new patients in clinic, and manage own clinic for patient’s follow-up appointments
• Patient education and counseling: pre op and post op teaching discharge management of patients, phone evaluation and management, and surgical scheduling as needed
• Hospital rounding and patient evaluation: evaluating new consults at clinical sites, H & P and discharge summaries, own transportation
• Perform related work as required by physician
• Public relations, including developing and maintaining a good rapport with referring physicians
• Responsible for physicians pager calls when he is in procedures as directed by physician
• Flexible work hours including some weeks extra hours and some days work early or late hours
