Blazer Jobs is seeking a dedicated and experienced BCBA for a full-time contract position in Hackensack, NJ. This school-based role provides a valuable opportunity to support students with special education needs by applying effective behavior analysis strategies. The ideal candidate will collaborate with educational teams and families to enhance student outcomes and contribute to a positive educational environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Behavior Plan Development: Design, implement, and manage individualized behavior intervention plans (BIPs) that address each student's specific needs and behavioral goals.
- Functional Behavior Assessments: Conduct detailed functional behavior assessments (FBAs) to determine the causes of challenging behaviors and develop targeted interventions.
- Direct Student Support: Provide one-on-one behavioral support to students, utilizing evidence-based behavior analysis techniques to address behavioral issues and foster positive behavioral changes.
- Collaboration with School Staff: Work closely with teachers, special education staff, and other school professionals to integrate behavior management strategies into classroom settings and support educational objectives.
- Family Engagement: Collaborate with families to offer guidance and training on behavior management techniques, ensuring alignment and consistency between school and home environments.
- Data Collection and Analysis: Maintain thorough records of student progress, behavioral data, and the effectiveness of interventions, using this data to inform ongoing adjustments to behavior plans.
- Participation in IEP Meetings: Contribute to the development of behavior-related goals and objectives during Individualized Education Program (IEP) meetings.
- Professional Development: Stay updated with the latest research and advancements in behavior analysis and special education to provide the highest quality of support.
Qualifications:
- Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) certification required.
- Significant experience working with special education students and their families is highly preferred.
- In-depth knowledge of behavior analysis principles and effective intervention strategies.
- Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
