Virtual Special Education Teacher

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Virtual Special Education Teacher to join our team in Wisconsin. As a Virtual Special Education Teacher, you will be responsible for providing individualized instruction, support, and guidance to students with diverse learning needs in a virtual learning environment. This position requires strong communication skills, expertise in special education practices, and a passion for fostering the academic and social-emotional growth of students.
Responsibilities:
- Individualized Instruction: Develop and implement personalized learning plans for students with special needs, tailored to their unique abilities, strengths, and challenges.
- Virtual Classroom Management: Facilitate virtual instruction and maintain a positive and inclusive learning environment conducive to student engagement and success.
- Assessment and Progress Monitoring: Conduct ongoing assessments to evaluate student progress and adjust instructional strategies accordingly. Keep detailed records of student performance and communicate progress to stakeholders, including parents/guardians and school administrators.
- Collaboration: Collaborate with other educators, special education staff, related service providers, and parents/guardians to develop and implement individualized education programs (IEPs) and support plans that meet the diverse needs of students.
- Utilization of Technology: Utilize educational technology tools and platforms effectively to deliver instruction, engage students, and differentiate learning experiences.
- Professional Development: Stay current with best practices, research, and trends in special education, virtual instruction, and assistive technology. Participate in professional development activities to enhance teaching skills and knowledge.
- Compliance: Ensure compliance with state and federal regulations related to special education services, including the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA) and Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Special Education or related field (Master's degree preferred).
- Valid Wisconsin teaching license/certification in Special Education.
- Previous experience working with students with disabilities, preferably in a virtual or remote learning environment.
- Strong understanding of special education laws, regulations, and best practices.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with colleagues, students, and families.
- Proficiency in utilizing educational technology tools and platforms for virtual instruction.
- Ability to differentiate instruction to meet the diverse learning needs of students.
