Position: Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP)
Job Overview: The Lockport School District is seeking a motivated and passionate Speech-Language Pathologist to join our team. The SLP will be responsible for assessing, diagnosing, and treating students with speech, language, and munication disorders. This position plays a crucial role in helping students achieve their full potential academically and socially.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct thorough assessments to identify speech and language disorders in students.
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans based on assessment findings.
- Provide direct therapy services to students, both individually and in groups.
- Collaborate with teachers, parents, and school staff to support students' munication development.
- Maintain detailed records of student assessments, therapy sessions, and progress.
- Participate in IEP meetings and contribute to the development of students' goals and objectives.
- Provide training and support to teachers and staff on speech and language development strategies.
Qualifications:
- Masters degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program.
- Valid Illinois state license in Speech-Language Pathology.
- Certificate of Clinical petence (CCC) from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA).
- Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) with a Speech-Language Pathologist endorsement (Teaching Endorsement: 154).
- Previous experience in a school setting preferred.
- Strong munication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
