Position: High School Psychologist
Job Summary: We are seeking a dedicated and experienced School Psychologist to join our team and support high school students across the cities of Bexley, Upper Arlington, and Whitehall. The ideal candidate will be responsible for conducting psychological evaluations, preparing prehensive reports, and providing counseling services to students. This role requires a professional who is mitted to fostering the emotional, social, and academic development of adolescents in a high school setting.
Key Responsibilities:
Psychological Evaluations:
Conduct thorough psychological assessments to identify students' needs, strengths, and areas for growth.
Utilize a variety of assessment tools and techniques to evaluate cognitive, emotional, and behavioral functioning.
Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other professionals to gather relevant information and insights.
Report Preparation:
Develop detailed and accurate reports based on assessment findings.
municate results to students, parents, and school staff in a clear and empathetic manner.
Use reports to make remendations for individualized education plans (IEPs) and other support services.
Counseling Services:
Provide individual and group counseling to students dealing with emotional, behavioral, or academic challenges.
Develop and implement intervention strategies and support plans tailored to students' needs.
Monitor and track students' progress and adjust interventions as needed.
Consultation and Collaboration:
Work closely with teachers, administrators, and parents to address students' needs and promote a positive school environment.
Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings to discuss and plan for students' educational and psychological needs.
Provide training and guidance to school staff on mental health issues and strategies for supporting students.
Crisis Intervention:
Respond to and manage crises involving students, providing immediate support and intervention as needed.
Develop and implement crisis response plans in collaboration with school staff and emergency services.
pliance and Record Keeping:
Ensure pliance with federal, state, and local regulations regarding special education and mental health services.
Maintain accurate and confidential records of assessments, reports, and counseling sessions.
Qualifications:
Masters or Doctoral degree in School Psychology or a related field.
Valid Ohio School Psychologist License or equivalent certification.
Previous experience working as a school psychologist, preferably in a high school setting.
Strong knowledge of psychological assessment tools, counseling techniques, and educational interventions.
Excellent munication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with students, parents, and school staff.
Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.
Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with a diverse student population.
Familiarity with local school districts in Bexley, Upper Arlington, and Whitehall.
Training in crisis intervention and management.
