Minimum 1+ years speech therapy experience required.
A school in the Benicia, CA area is in need of a passionate and dedicated Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) for a year-round on-site position. The SLPA will manage a medium caseload, supporting the evaluation and treatment of speech, language, and communication disorders under the supervision of a licensed Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP). The director is prepared to promptly review applications and conduct interviews.
Responsibilities:
- Assist in conducting evaluations and diagnoses of speech, language, and communication disorders.
- Implement individualized treatment plans developed by the supervising SLP.
- Provide direct therapy to students in individual or group settings.
- Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other professionals to support student progress.
- Maintain detailed and accurate records of patient conditions, treatment plans, therapy sessions, and progress.
- Participate in IEP meetings and provide input as needed.
- Assist the supervising SLP with administrative tasks and other duties as assigned.
Experience:
- Previous experience in a speech-language pathology setting.
- Experience working in a school setting as an SLPA is preferred.
Education:
- Must have an associate degree in Speech-Language Pathology Assisting or a related field.
- Must have or be eligible for SLPA licensure in California.
