Virtual School Psychologist

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Virtual School Psychologist to join our team in Connecticut. As a Virtual School Psychologist, you will provide comprehensive psychological services to students enrolled in virtual education programs across the state. Your role will involve assessing students' academic, emotional, and behavioral needs, collaborating with educators and families, and implementing interventions to support students' success. This is a remote position, offering the opportunity to make a meaningful impact on the lives of students while enjoying the flexibility of working from home.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct virtual assessments to evaluate students' cognitive, academic, social, and emotional functioning.
- Collaborate with educators, parents, and other stakeholders to develop Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) and intervention plans for students with diverse needs.
- Provide virtual counseling and therapeutic services to students experiencing social, emotional, or behavioral difficulties.
- Conduct virtual crisis interventions and provide support to students in times of emotional distress.
- Utilize data-driven approaches to monitor students' progress and adjust interventions as needed.
- Participate in virtual multidisciplinary team meetings to discuss student progress, interventions, and academic accommodations.
- Provide virtual consultation and support to educators regarding classroom management strategies, behavior interventions, and accommodations for students with special needs.
- Stay up-to-date on relevant laws, regulations, and best practices in school psychology, particularly as they relate to virtual education.
- Maintain accurate and confidential records of assessment results, interventions, and progress monitoring data.
- Participate in professional development activities to enhance skills and stay current in the field of school psychology.
Qualifications:
- Master's or doctoral degree in School Psychology from an accredited institution.
- Valid certification or licensure as a School Psychologist in Connecticut.
- Experience working as a School Psychologist in a K-12 educational setting, preferably in a virtual or remote capacity.
- Proficiency in conducting virtual assessments and providing teletherapy services.
- Strong understanding of educational laws, regulations, and best practices related to special education and student services.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders.
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively in a remote work environment.
- Commitment to cultural competence, equity, and inclusion in supporting the needs of diverse student populations.
- Familiarity with virtual learning platforms and technology tools commonly used in online education settings.
- Willingness to undergo background checks and comply with all applicable state and federal regulations regarding student privacy and confidentiality.
